Unexpected Guest

For the past two months, we have an unexpected guest visiting our globe teaching some important life lessons by breaking our life routines, masking our dreams and leaving deep cracks in our economy. The guest is taking us through a difficult path but through these dark hours we as humans quickly learn to embrace the beauty of the broken which enables us to live free in midst of the crisis.

We believe this global pandemic is teaching us something; yes it is scary, dark and intense moments for some losing their dear ones, for some starvation, for some unemployment, for some fear of sickness etc.

As we were reminded of Psalms 139: 8 – 12 “If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.”

God alone helping us to realize “deep within the depth of the earth, where no one can see but God alone, rough edges are hewn, raw beauty is formed from crushing pressures and intense heat where diamonds are created”. Quote taken from Debbie McDaniel article

In India, the Covid-19 cases are rising steadily and it has crossed 62000 cases as of today; where about 2100+ people have died as of today. Covid-19 pandemic has brought the entire nation to a halt in the month of April as well. We were not able to run Little Transformers Club (Project based on rural children) but the Lord envisioned our hearts to help the suffering community (daily wagers & sanitation workers) in whatever ways we can by helping them to pass through the crisis peacefully.

COVID - 19 RELIEF PROGRAM:

Dark Hours of Vishal (Name changed for Security purpose): Before I share about the relief activities data, I would like to share a story that became a shock wave throughout our state. It's a real story, a family of three (Dad, Mom & a 5 year old child) who lives in a village close to our district. Before Covid-19, the father of the family was found with kidney failure and was bedridden for treatment. The mother worked for daily wages in different homes as a maid and took care of the daily needs. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with Covid-19 virus; the health workers took her to a nearby hospital and she was quarantined. No neighbors or relatives came to the rescue of the family. Vishal had to witness his father's death helplessly. Even after his father’s death, no one came to cremate him. A day later, the small boy was found by a social worker who then informed this matter to the district government health officers; where they performed the last rites and rescued the boy.

This turned our attention to help the families, who are suffering in our own society or village. Throughout the month, we carefully selected families who depend on daily wages, suffer with lack of food and no income group. With the support of friends and family, we could bless 50 families that include daily wagers, widows and front-liners (Sanitation Workers) with 20 days food & provisions. It is all because of God’s abundant grace and blessing.

“It was timely blessing to our family, there are six adults in our family, my husband is a mason and we solely depend on his income to survive every month. We thought this lockdown will get over in 15 days and our lives will become normal but it is been over 60 days now. Our lives came to a standstill and with no job we as a family literally struggled for food. Thank you for finding us and supporting us with necessary rations for 20 days. It was timely! We bless you” says one of our relief kit recipient.

Prayer Request:

·     Please pray for Covid-19 situation in the world and in India. Pray that everything will come back to normal situation soon.

·    Pray for the families and children who are suffering during this time of crisis due to lack of food. We are doing our part by providing monthly provisions to as many families we can.

·     Pray for our Little Transformation Club project building, it is still under construction and needs over 1 lakh rupees to complete.

Pray and Support Us!

Pray for wisdom and strength for both of us; helping us to envision the journey and walk boldly towards it.

Thank you so much for joining us in praying for our mission journey. Please do comment and send us your response. It will encourage us greatly.

With love,

Hanni & Jeba
