Dreams in Life - Transformation Stories and Life lessons

Our Amazing Teens ready for learning important life lessons
The month of August was amazing, we had an great opportunity to volunteer and work with children in different capacities. Whenever we went to the villages and meet the children, they are excited to learn something new; they never asked for any gifts or chocolates. Every time, they come running to us asking what you are going to teach us today.

Each child is different and they face different problems in life. Mostly girls in the village are severely affected because of closed culture. Neither are they allowed to study beyond school nor are they allowed work in cities. Eventually, they are married in their young age.

During our teen sessions, when we talk to them about “Dreams in Life” from the life of Joseph; they always say they are not able to dream big or they cannot dream anything beyond their home. We encouraged and helped them to understand from the life of Joseph “it is God who fulfills the dreams”.

When Dreams come true: After our session, we witnessed one of our teen (girl) making a bold move in joining for work in the city. She is the only graduate in the family and was selected during campus interview in her college. Though, she will be the only breadwinner in the family, her family rejected her moving to the city for work. Our session helped her to understand the importance of knowing God personally and He will fulfill the dreams of her life. She said “I prayed and talked with my parents again. God worked in their hearts and now I am moving to fulfill my dreams.” Now she is working in Chennai as a production manager in a reputed corporate company.

Praise God for His Miracle!

Shouldering a Depressed Teen: We meet Sathya (named changed for identity issues); who was rejected by the school for poor academics in his ninth grade. He became depressed and emotionally drained. He stopped talking with friends, parents and family; told them he was not willing to study any longer. His parents were worried and wanted us to intervene. It was challenging for us; as he was silent to all our approaches.

We together prayed and continued to minister him. It was during this time, we invited him to join with us for a program (exclusive award function conducted by an NGO for honoring government school kids; who have achieved great things in life with no support) in Coimbatore. He has never been outside of his village. It was the first time he travelled far from his village and stayed away from his home. The program encouraged him greatly; he started connecting with us closely and came out of his depression.  Presently, he is the joyful teen in our sessions, he has joined a private institution to study part-time and write his 10th board exam.

Pray for Us

Pray for us, as we are working towards in starting a regular project through Leap High Foundation for these children in their own village. Reaching them with the power of the Gospel is our ultimate vision and goal.

Pray for wisdom and strength for both of us; helping us to envision the journey and walk boldly towards it.

Thank you so much for joining us in praying for our mission journey. Please do comment and send us your response. It will be of a great help.

With love,

Hanni & Jeba
