It is not the Destination - But the Journey

Blog 3

The month of October 2018, has been a great learning for us as a family. We as family understood, it is not the destination that matter rather the journey towards it.
Our Life learning with a Smile

We realized we put-off too many things in life and become busy 24*7 in order to pursue the things that we want to achieve for His kingdom. Things like family, enjoying with friends, building new relationships, working out for both mental and physical fitness, taking regular Sabbath, experiencing peace, forgiving enemies and enjoying small things in life. We realized that we were too focused and unknowingly lost ourselves personally on the way.

We are not saying we are giving up our dreams and goals rather we understood it is important to find the right balance that allows us to pursue big things without sacrificing the small things that makes life worth living. Life is the journey but we seldom live out to its fullness. Understanding our situation, we both went on a long bike ride (Our love languageJ) where we discussed and regulated our priorities.

Mission Updates

The family who gave us Space for Ministry
Sunday School: Our ministry with children in the surrounding villages is going very well. We were conducting the ministry in one of our local church believer’s house in the village. The house veranda was so small to accommodate many children. We were praying for a new space for our ministry.

To our surprise, a neighbor (a family who follows other faith) invited us to conduct the ministry in their house, which was big and spacious. They also supported our ministry by sponsoring snacks and refreshments to our children. The family actively helps us in the ministry. Expecting a miracle in life? He assures to bless you in uncommon ways.

We praised God for who He is and how he opened doors for us in the village.

English Classes: We are presently helping few students from our village to learn English. Recently, we came across a girl who got over 84% in her final year High School but now she is struggling in her college studies resulting in 4 arrear papers because of poor English knowledge. 70% of the students from the village won’t make it to Masters Studies because of this issue.

Thus, we want to address this issue starting from our village. Though the approach is small now, we want to expand the classes with right tools, trainers and resources to make it a success. We ask of your prayers.

Youth Meeting: Every Monday, all the youths of our local church visit a family in our village for fellowship, prayer and blessing. It will be a time of Prayer, Sharing, Bible study and witnessing Christ to one another.

With a local Social Worker during the Program
We are a Child Protector: This month, we had an opportunity to volunteer and be part of a Social Welfare Meeting organized by our friends within our home town. It was a meeting, were an exclusive booklet and short-film based on Child Abuse and Protection was released for the community.

It was a time of learning and pledging to become an active volunteer to take the message to all the children in the district. We are planning to organize special sessions on “How to protect yourself from Child Abuse and will explain the laws concerning the crime” with the children in schools, villages and in community center.

Our October Joy and Thanksgiving!

We pledged to become a child protector in our community. We will be addressing (Through sessions), reporting (to local government authorities) and restoring (Counselling) children who are abused in our locality.

We got a new place (Spacious and with all facilities) for our children project in one of our village.

Pray for Us

Pray for us, as we are working towards in starting children club in the coming year. The plans and ground work are going on.

Pray for us, as we travel continuously to different places for ministry and to understand more about working with children.

Thank you so much for joining us in praying for our mission journey. Please do comment and send us your response. It will be of a great help.

With love,

Hanni &Jeba
